Eachine EV100 FPV goggles Review

Most drone enthusiasts are in love with the FPV experience, even if it might be a little expensive to fully enjoy it. If you are also one who enjoys the FPV experience and does not want to spend a lot of money in order to enjoy it, this article is for you. We are going to review the Eachine EV100 FPV goggles, which are not only very attractive, but they also come at a friendly budget.
So, let’s begin.

Design

At first sight the Eachine EV100 FPV goggles look pretty similar to the more expensive and professional goggles available on the market. It is a great surprise to see that you can get such a beautiful design at its price. They are available in a beautiful white color, which makes them look pretty similar to the popular Fat Shark Dominator V3.

The overall appearance and feel of these goggles appears to be really impressive. They are not bulky at all and very comfortable to wear. In the inside area of the goggles you find its foam pad, which has the main purpose to reduce the light leaks, so you can enjoy a better experience. The foam is really thick adding a great comfort to the one who is wearing them. The great thing about this foam is that it can accommodate a large variety of sizes, so you will not have to worry how they fit on your head. The foam allows it to perfectly accommodate anyone’s head.

Unfortunately, there is no built-in DVR that comes with these goggles. But, taking into consideration its price you can install an external one.  On top of EV100 there are two RP-SMA connectors for antennas visible. There are also two buttons that allow you to change the channels, a tiny joystick button for image adjustments and a fan to keep your optics clear.

EV100’s Features

The Eachine EV100 FPV goggles have a 72 channel receiver. This receiver covers every legal frequency in the 5.8 spectrum. It also can receive the ones that are illegal, so make sure to check your local law, in order to be aware of the frequencies you can access and the ones you can’t as well. More than that, you can also try the racing mode with these goggles. In racing mode will set up a frequency which is at least 80 mHz away from the next one, so you will not have any sort of video interference.

When it comes to the screen resolution, we are really impressed. It has a resolution of 720 X 540 and a 28 degrees FOV. Of course it is not as good as the Fat shark V4 ones, which comes with a 32 degree FOV, but for its price range, the EV100 offers some impressive attributes.

As we previously said, the goggles come with two antennas, with RP-SMA connectors. Even if it has two antennas the goggles do not have two internal receivers. Because of that, it can not create a full diversity system.

Battery

Eachine EV100 FPV goggles are powered by a 1000mAh Lipo battery. It has an internal charging and a balancing circuit. In order to charge it you will have to connect it with a 5.5mm x 2.1mm plug. You will also get a JST plug which is not a balancing one. Under no circumstances charge the batter via the JST plug. The JST plug is only for powering the DVR unit.

The battery has 4 built-in LED lights, which allows you to see how much power the battery has. So you can always check the voltage level of the battery, by simply pressing the button situated on top of the battery. You can also charge the battery with any USB source, micro USB port or a phone charger. In order to fully charge the goggles’ battery it will take you somewhere around 3 to 4 hours. But if you are looking for a longer FPV experience you can opt-in for purchasing a second battery. This way you can easily switch it with the first one when it runs out of power.

Conclusion

So as we saw above, the Eachine EV100 FPV goggles are not the worst and not the best either. And by taking into consideration its price, we can say that they can be a great choice for every drone enthusiast.  Taking everything presented above into consideration, EV100 is worth their price for sure. If you are interested in purchasing them, you can find great offers on Banggood and Amazon
