Top 10 FPV Quadcopters – Best FPV Drones

FPV (first person view) drones are becoming more and more popular since the experience of trying one is quite breathtaking, If you’ve got a good camera on it and you use goggles, of course. Otherwise, it might get bad, very fast. That being said, there is another way you can experience FPV and that is by participating or by watching FPV drone racing. Nothing like watching some drones trying to avoid obstacle and to go as fast as possible in front of a live audience.

So as you can probably tell from the brief introduction, there are drones used for hobbies, professional movies, professional pictures and of course drone racing. There are other uses also, like allowing authorities to send the drones in places that are hardly reachable by men and it also eliminates the risk of going somewhere dangerous.

In this article, we are mostly going to give you a list of Top 10 FPV Quadcopters for hobbyists, content creators and of course, FPV drone racers.

What to look for

So let’s start with drones for FPV racing. There are a lot of RTF (ready to fly) drones, but they may be more expensive and they may not be the best you can get. But if you’re a beginner, I highly recommend a RTF drone that can be upgraded or disassembled. If you’re experienced, then there are many kits available in order to build them with the parts given.

Or, if you like to experiment a lot, then you can buy the parts yourself and do a DIY (do it yourself) project. And of course, look for the fastest drone/parts possible. If you’re serious about drone racing, then you’re going to need every advantage you can get. Also, flight control is quite important.

If you want to buy a FPV drone for movies and pictures, then you will probably want to stick to a RTF drone. And of course, you would need to look for one that has a camera that fits your needs. You might also want to look at the features it offers. It can have the best camera in the world, but if the drones moves too much, or if you can’t take certain shoots (a feature like follow a target can be important), then the camera won’t help you too much.

Now for the hobbyists, you won’t need to pay attention that much to detail. You could get the best priced drone with decent features and you will probably be satisfied. A RTF is preferred here also, since many will be beginners. That being said, here’s a list of top 10 Quadcopters (four rotors and propellers).

1. DJI Spark

First of Top 10 FPV Quadcopters

This is probably one of the best FPV drones you can get at a decent price and with a ton of features. You even get to command your drone by using gestures. DJI Spark is a selfie drone and it is ready to fly. Of course, this isn’t for drone racing, it is suitable for basic video and photo shooting. It can also be used professionally, but it’s a bit harder than with more expensive drones. It is also good for hobbyists.

In order to use the FPV feature, you can either do it via the phone app, or you can use the FPV goggles. The good part about this drone is that you can fly it a whopping 1.9 km away and you technically still control it. The camera has 12MP and it can make video in 1080p. Also, you will get a flight time of about 16 minutes.

2. ARRIS FPV 250

The ARRIS FPV 250 is one of the best racing quadcopters in terms of price to performance ratio. It is made from a very durable carbon/glass fiber in order to help with withstand some serious accidents, since they can happen quite often with some people. You get a 700TVL camera which may not be of the best quality, but it offers almost no latency between what the drone sees and what you see.
The drone is almost ready to fly. You will need to buys your own remote control and battery and you should get around 10 minutes of flight time.

3. DJI Phantom 4

DJI Phantom 4 Best Quadcopter with camera

Now this not a drone that should be taken lightly. It is one of the best drone capable of shooting 4K videos and it is of good quality. It is designed for professional use and it is also capable of FPV flying. The quadcopter has an obstacle avoidance system, so you can feel safe enough to fly it through some crowded areas. But if you don’t want to lose a lot of money, you should be careful even if the system is pretty good at avoiding obstacles.

As the DJI Spark, the DJI Phantom 4 can also fly with the help of the phone app, or with the goggles. You also get a lot of good features for videos.

4. Eachine CMOS 700TVL FPV Camera + Transmitter

This is a very good kit for making a DIY drone. It is one of the best cameras you can get and it also comes with a 5.8GHz transmitter. It is a bit more tricky to use it on a DIY drone and you will need to solder some wires. But for under $50, this can be a very good offer. Even though this is not a full kit for a quadcopter, you can get pretty cheap with your quadcopter parts and you can also get a decent performance.

5. Parrot BeBop 2

Parrot Bebop 2 FPV Pack

This is on the more expensive side of FPV drones, but it can be quite versatile. It has a 1080p video capable camera and it can take 14MP photos with the build-in wide-angle camera. Parrot BeBop 2 has high stability, so you might actually be capable of using it to take some nice shots.

The high capacity battery makes it capable of flying around 25 minutes and it also comes with 2 FPV kits that includes the Parrot SkyController 2 and Cockpit glasses in order to get a more immersive FPV flight experience. While it has all these features, you can also use if for drone racing, but for beginners only.

6. Dromida Ominus

Dromida Ominus is a RTF drone, so you will get all you need right out of the box in order to fly it immediately. You will have a smooth flight experience with this drone thanks to the 3-axis gyro and 3 accelerometers.

It has a decent 720p camera and it provides 10-12 minutes of flight time. All in all, this is a well-balanced FPV quadcopter and you will probably not be disappointed. But this seems to be appropriate for beginner FPV drone racers, but also for beginner drone users that want to shoot decent videos and photos.

7. Hero RC QX-5 V626 UFO

With an unpronounceable name, the UFO has an interesting design and it was made to be as simple as possible. Now this is not a quadcopter for everyone. It doesn’t have an amazing camera and it surely isn’t the fastest you can get. But it has a low price point and this might be a good reason for buying it.

It is made from durable materials, it is capable of 8-10 minutes of flying and it can be used for beginners racing and for basic photos and videos.

8. Coocheer JJRC H26D RC

On the budget side again, the JJRC H26D is a drone made for beginners. Even though the camera has only 3MP, it is one of the best you can get at a low price point and it has a 120 degrees angle.

You can fly it at 300 meters and it has a 1200mAh battery that can offer about 8 minutes of flight time. It also has all the basic features you could ask from a drone.

9. Yuneec Typhoon H

Yuneec Typhoon H 4k Drone

A drone made for professionals mostly, the Yuneec Typhoon H offers a lot of features that are available only on drones that have a price of about $4000-$10000. Of course it has it’s flaws, but right now it costs $1000 and it is a very capable quadcopter.

It features obstacle avoidance and a CGO3 + 4K UHD camera that can give you a 360-degree view. So as you can see, it can clearly be used for professional videos and photos. It is also FPV capable by using the 7-inch screen built in the controller, or you can of course use FPV goggles.

10. Vortex 285 Racing Quad

And for the last presented drone, it is a quadcopter good for FPV Racing. Vortex 285 Racing Quad is one of the best RTF drones you can get and it is very fast. It is foldable and it is made out of a very durable carbon fiber and custom injected plastic.

The camera mount is also tiltable, so you will be capable of getting the perfect angle for racing and you could fit a basic FPV camera, or an HD camera like a GoPro. So if you want to get into the world of FPV Racing, I highly recommend this one.

Conclusion

There is a FPV drone for everyone. All you need to do is search a bit. I think that Top 10 FPV Quadcopters list should be able to help you to decide which kind of drone is the most suitable for you and it should be a good starting point.
