This is a great question, unfortunately there is no right or wrong answer. The quoted range by DJI is 1.2 miles, however this all depends on the environment. Typically we get about 3/4 of a mile when flying in a less populated area. We can also upgrade remote controls for the Phantom 3 and the Inspire 1 if you are looking to go further or have a clear video feed at all times.
