NEHEME NH525 Quadcopter Review

Today we will review the Neheme NH525 quadcopter. It’s not a well-known brand, but the company made everything it could to deliver a high-quality product for an affordable price. When they made the product they had in mind the customer experience. Therefore you can get this drone under $100, and still got some nice features within. For example, the drone comes with 2 batteries included in the standard package, and the batteries can be charged fast.

Therefore it could be the perfect drone for those who wish to have a drone for their own satisfaction. It doesn’t have a good camera or flight range as a high-end drone, but it’s still might be good for you. In this article, you’ll see all the pros and cons of the drone so you could decide whether or not it’s the right one for you.

Design and build

This is a small drone, with a great design. Regarding it’s built, the drone is foldable, so it’s easier to transport it. When you unfold the drone it measures 7.9 by 7.3 by 3.0 inches, and when you fold it, it measures 5.1 by 2.8 by 2.2 inches. So it’s so small that you can easily store it in your backpack or in a pocket when you’re travelling.

Also, by looking at the drone, or touching it you wouldn’t say that the drone costs less than 100 bucks. It has a nice, minimalist design, with just a few details. In fact, design-wise it looks just as good-looking as a Mavic Air 2 from DJI. It’s clean, simple and foldable. Everything you might need from the design of a drone. Under each arm, you will find an LED light. That’s not there to be fancier, it’s a required element on a drone. This way you will be able to tell where the drone is facing, even in a dark environment. In the package, you will also find some propeller guards, which can be installed if needed. These will save your drone in the case of a crash.

The drone weighs more than 250g, more exactly 500g. And I said like that because the 250g weight is a milestone in the drone industry. If your drone weight under that you’re good to go, but if the drone is more than you’ll have to register into the FAA if you don’t want a nice penalty.

Transmitter

The controller of the Neheme NH525 works with a 2.4GHz bandwidth. This wireless connection usually has a longer range than 5GHz connections. However, the range for this particular drone is only 100 meters (330 feet).

Design-wise the drone has a black in colour, the exact same coating as the drone. The controller has a phone holder on the top. But it’s not a regular phone holder it’s a foldable phone holder. So just like the drone, the controller occupies minimal space when you transport it.

The drone can be also controlled via the app provided by the manufacturer. For this, you have to download the app and then connect it to the drone. It won’t be as effective as the controller, but it’s a nice alternative. Once connected you can also see the FPV live feed on the app front the camera of the drone.

Battery

As I said in the introduction you will get this drone with not one but two batteries. The batteries provided are 3.7V 1200mAh batteries. A single battery can give you around 11 minutes of flight time, so in total, you get 20+ minutes of flight time. The batteries are modular batteries you can charge them out of the drone, and it’s quite easy to remove and insert the battery. A battery can be charged in around 60 minutes.

Camera

The drone is built with a 720P HD camera. The sensors within the camera are kinda low so you’ll be able to make good photos only in the daytime when the weather is bright.  The camera also provides a live video transmission, that you can see in the app. This way you don’t have to take photos blindly. The camera angle is adjustable from 0 to 45°, so you can find that right angle easiest.

Features

The quadcopter also has some features that will make your piloting and recording experience easier. The features you can find in the drone are Altitude Hold, Headless Mode, Speed Settings, 360° Flips, Gesture Shooting Mode, Trajectory Flight. Some of the features here are super useful, some of them are just fun to have. For a better understanding of the features read the users manual.

Conclusion

When you buy the NEHEME NH525 drone, use it only in large open spaces, because it wasn’t meant to be used indoors. Before the flight, you should read the users manual where you’ll see how to unfold and calibrate the drone. And from that moment on the drone is ready to be used. It has a decent camera, with which you can make nice aerial footage for you social media accounts. The flight time and the range are not that great but for a hobby-level usage, it’s just right.

If you’re interested in buying the Neheme NH525 you can buy it from Amazon.
