Design and build
At first look, the JJRC H26W Quadcopter looks like a professional drone the structure looks quite similar to the DJI Phantom 4 Pro, but with a toy grade finish. The drone takes up a huge space with its bumpers and extended arms. Overall it measures 45.5 x 45.5 x 18cm. The huge bumpers and the propeller guards can give high-quality protection for the internal parts, including the camera. So if you consider yourself a beginner this is something that you should really look forward to. Also, it has LED lights mounted on the prop guards that will show you the orientation of the drone, which comes especially helpful when it’s dark.
Let’s see some more technical details about the H26W. The diagonal motor to motor(MTM) measurement is 350mms. Without the battery or camera, with prop guards, the drone weighs only 334 grams. But with everything included the drone weighs 1000 grams.
JJRC H26W Quadcopter’s transmitter comes in a black and blue color combination, so it’s not matching the drone’s color combination. The transmitter is quite big, but it looks really professional. is slightly larger than a V2x2 style transmitter and there is a little 2.2 by 4.2 mm LCD screen built-in. The transmitter also has some LED indicators, which turn on when the controller is on.
The drone also has different speed profiles. They can be changed on the top right shoulder button. After you changed the speed, it beeps the number of the rate (1,2 or 3 times). The button on the right shoulder is responsible for the auto flips. And with the left shoulder button, you can toggle between photo and video mode. There are also two knobs, the right one is for the return to home and headless modes. And the left one is for setting the altitude hold.
In the package, you will find one battery. Wich measures around 66.5mm by 31.5mm by 14.5mm and weighs 55.7 grams. And that’s almost the biggest dimension that the tray can accept. On the battery, there are different types of connectors. Only the plugs can be used to charge the battery. If you trim off the plastic on the male just connector, and you can plug a just plug into the quadcopter.
The battery can be easily changed. So, in the case you want to buy multiple batteries, you won’t lose much time with the change. The provided battery is a 7.4V 1200mAh one that will let you fly for around 6-7 minutes depending on factors like your video resolution, flight style, weather, and so on. it takes 60 minutes to fully charge the battery. So, it’s really advised to get more batteries. As we can see the JJRC H26W Quadcopter comes with a decent battery.
The camera system is quite bulky because of the pan and tilt mechanisms. There is no place for a memory card. So, all the footage is stored on your cell phone. The pictures and videos taken with the 2MP camera look quite good on the phone.
With the app downloaded you have the possibility to see some FPV about the camera’s live-action. For that, there is a sheet provided in the kit with some instructions and QR codes. There is an app for both iOs and Android devices. And with the phone holder placed on the transmitter, you will have a quite nice experience.
In conclusion, the JJRC H26W Quadcopter is really powerful and has a high speed for its size. The battery bay secures really well the battery well, and it’s easy to change the batteries. Due to the fact, that it has different speed profiles, and a set of propeller guards even beginners might be able to use it. It’s quite fast, so you should be careful how do you use it, and always take precautions before flying the drone.
