DEERC drones have always been in a competition with the Hong Kong-based DJI brand when it comes to balancing great features and affordable values. The new DEERC DE22Pro Quadcopter seems to be a great rivalry in that direction, as it has many advanced features at a budget-friendly price. Let’s discover together what those features are, so you can decide for yourself if this model really is the competition it claims it is for the famous DJI.

Design

DEERC DE22Pro is a foldable drone that also comes with its own storage and travel case, making it easy to carry it with you anywhere you go. It is also convenient, as when you want to use it, all you need to do is unfold it, insert the battery and calibrate it, and you’re done!

The material used for the body of the drone is strong and durable, protecting the interior electronic parts. In the eventuality of a crash, the case will absorb most of the power produced at impact, therefore keeping the internal parts safe. Another thing that is worth mentioning is that the drone has a level 7 wind resistance, which means that it will fly without any issues in wind speed  that is slightly higher than a breeze. 

Camera

The 4K camera is mounted on a 2-axis gimbal, while the DEERC DE22Pro has electronic image stabilization, also known as EIS. With so much aid, it means that even if the drone slants, it will still be able to take proper footage with minimal distortion. The function that can zoom up to 5 times brings up even the furthest detail for you to capture. The resulting photos and videos are more than stunning, and you can easily use them for social media posting, for example.

Last but not least, this would not be an amazing drone without the well known and amazing FPV experience. You can achieve it through your smartphone and feel like a true pilot. Also, you can use your smartphone to store all the footage you create. The only exception would be the 4K photos, as it would be best to transfer them to a TF card. You can find a slot for it in the drone, so it could not be more convenient. 

Battery

Maybe the greatest thing about the DE22Pro is the amount of flight time you get. Of course, this would not be possible without the two batteries, each providing up to 28 minutes. In reality, due to dynamics, you will only get around 25 minutes, but we believe even this is more than perfect. The only downside could be that the charge time is quite long, between 4 and a half and 5 hours, but this is not a reason to buy a third battery. 

Another plus side of these batteries is the fact that they are smart. This means that they will let you know when they start running low on the voltage, in order to start charging them up. Even when you are doing so, you do not need to worry about overcharging them, as they have a special incorporated feature to prevent this. 

Remote Controller

The 2.4GHz remote controller has a special thing about it too: low latency. Together with this, you can also notice a small display on which you can follow important information regarding battery statistics and the coordinates of the drone. On the top side of the controller, there is the smartphone holder, that is positioned in such a way that you would not have to take your eyes off of the controller for too long. 

The control range of the controller is 500 meters, which is a great number that allows you to expand your play field. 

Flight performance

It is needless to say that this drone flies outstandingly well, but something you might be even more interested in are the flight functions. They are numerous, so here are a few of them, which we believe are worth mentioning.

GPS Flight

By connecting the drone to your smartphone, you can use the phone’s GPS connectivity to always be able to locate your quadcopter. In addition to this, the GPS proves to be extremely useful for the fail-safe function that makes the DE22Pro automatically return when the battery starts to run out of power, or the signal connectivity is poor. 

Follow Me Mode

This is a great function if you want to focus on taking pictures and shooting videos. All you have to do is activate it and the drone will follow you at a decent distance, allowing you to forget about the flight controls for a second and bring out your inner photographer or videographer. 

Way Point and Circle Fly

On the map interface available through the app, you can plan out a route beforehand for your drone to follow by itself. Also, with the Circle Fly mode, you can choose a designated location or monument for the drone to fly around, therefore helping you to take photos and videos from all of the possible angles.

This is a great feature for beginners, as the drone will remain at the desired altitude without any additional commands made, while the fresh pilot will be able to focus only on the horizontal flight at first. Then, once the user masters the skill, he or she can advance to controlling all of the directions at the same time. 

One Key Take Off and One Key Landing

There are some features designed in help for beginners. They will make the drone take off and land at just the push of a button, without having to waste time and worry about eventually crashing it. These are also finer skills that can be picked up only after you gain some experience by simply flying, so the functions are more than handy.

In conclusion, DEERC DE22Pro is a great model for beginners. If by now you only had the chance to use small ones, with minimal specifications, it will feel like you finally fly a real drone for the first time. This is because the flight performance is great and the motors are also quieter. At the same time, it is simple enough to be easily understood by someone with little to no experience. 

A couple things that should be noted about this model are that you should check what your local legislation is regarding drones, as it is quite heavy and will probably have to be registered.
