Design & Looks

Q90C Quadcopter Design And Looks
Eachine Q90C looks like a flying frog, especially when you see from above the drone’s body looks identical to a frog. Interesting take on the design side. Eachine Q90C will be easily recognizable for any amateur.

Nowadays many drone companies design their drones to look like some kind of animal: bug, frog, bee or cicada.

Eachine Q90C has a transparent green and froggy fuselage, you will see all the wires and electronic parts that are made of. Plastic is the main material that is used to shape the body frog-like. No carbon fiber is used like the pro-FPV racers has. But don’t forget that Eachine Q90C quadcopter is a beginner FPV drone, not for the more advanced pilots.

The dimensions of the Eachine Q90C are small. It is 88 mm wide, 55 mm long and 40 mm in height. Easily fits into your palm.
The propellers are different than the previous model. Now it has three blades instead of two.
Eachine Q90C Frog Quadcopter
The new Eachine Q90C got also new motors with more RPM, for more power. The 8520 2S brushed coreless motors performs efficiently. Eachine Q90C is an agile little frog.

Antennas from the frog’s quadcopter body remind us that Eachine Q90C is an FPV drone, that has to transmit the video signal to the googles. The FPV and the Remote Controller signals work on different frequencies, the RC is on 2.4Ghz and the FPV signal is on 5.8Ghz.

The battery fits perfectly on the bottom of the drone. With a 7.4V 300mAh Lipo Battery is able to transmit enough power to the motors up to 6 minutes according to the specification. The flight time really is about 3 an a half minutes. Spare batteries are a good option to consider if you want to have more fun with the Eachine Q90C.

Remote Controller & Features

You got a pretty basic remote controller, somewhat toy grade with a cheap feeling. Although it’s plasticky, it does the job that is meant to do.

A nice feature that it vibrates when you change some setting, letting you know in what flight mode you’re in. It is really useful because when you have the goggles on your head you won’t see the controller, just feel it.

The only minus about the remote controller is that ergonomically some buttons are placed at the bottom. It is more convenient to change speed rates and flight modes when the buttons are placed on the top of the controller. After some flight session, you can be used to that aspect.
Eachine Q90C Remote Controller
On the controller, you will find the basic layout: two joysticks, trimming buttons and some function buttons. With the function buttons, you can select the flight modes, exactly 3 of them.

The Angle Mode doesn’t let you tilt the quadcopter more than 45 degrees. This mode is for beginner pilots. The second flight mode is the Horizon Mode which is a self-leveling mode, for more intermediate pilots, you are able to perform rolls and flips. The last and most advanced flight mode is the Acro Mode. You have full control over the quadcopter.

Also, you have three sensitivity rates. In the most sensitive setting, the drone responds very quickly to the commands from the controller.
Eachine Q90C Simulated Flight
The remote controller has another hidden task. The simulator mode lets you use the RC as a gamepad. You can practice piloting with FPV racing simulators. You only connect the little frog to your computer and the remote controller is recognized as a gamepad. This way you can master your piloting skills without doing any harm to Eachine Q90C.

Camera & Flight Performance

Q90C FPV Quadcopter 1000 TVL Camera
Eachine Q90C has a decent camera on board, that is perfectly usable for FPV flying. You have a 1000TVL (Total Vertical Lines) resolution camera with a 1/3 “CMOS sensor, that has a pretty wide 110-degree angle.

This feature is useful, cause, unfortunately, the camera isn’t tiltable. So when you fly at high rates and the tilt angle is much sharper, you only see the ground through the eyes of the camera.

The transmission power of the VTX is 25mW that is enough to get a decent FPV image through the googles. The video feed is good enough and has low latency. The transmission range of FPV is about 120 m.
Eachine Q90C FPV goggles
Eachine Q90C is an agile little quadcopter. Perfect for beginner FPV drone pilots. It resists the winds and the flight range is good too. The only minus about the flight behavior is that when you manage to crash it, one or more of the propellers tends to fly away. The propellers sadly easily break, so it is always good to have some spare ones.

The Q90C Quadcopter is also connectable to BetaFlight where you can tune up your flying frog. As a disclaimer. Do not change other than the PID settings. If you change other than that the motors will run at full throttle and you will have to reset the firmware manually.

Conclusion

Eachine Q90C Cheap FPV Racing Quadcopter package is a good deal for beginner pilots. You not only get the quadcopter, the remote controller but also the googles for the video transmission, under $100.For this price, you probably won’t find anything else that suits your aspiration to try out an FPV category drone. Q90C Racing Quadcopter is great and reliable, you can easily find spare parts too.
