Eachine EX4 Quadcopter Specs Review

*the battery takes 4 hours to charge it. And you can fly with it for 25 minutes which is a huge amount of time for a drone in this quality and price range.

Build and design

Like most of the Eachine drones, this one is foldable as well. Not just the arms, but the propellers as well. When you take it in your hands you can observe that it’s a pretty heavy drone, however, the powerful motors are still able to get it high in the air. After you unfold the arms you can unfold the landing gears as well, because for a maximal space economy those are foldable as well. The drone looks a bit like the number 8 from above, but they did it in the most stylish way possible. You can find the place

Transmitter

This one’s transmitter doesn’t look like a regular Eachine transmitter, it doesn’t have that Xbox controller feels. It’s more like a brick shape. But it not just better, it works better. Also, now you don’t have to mess with the batteries, because the drone has built-in batteries which can be charged. The charging port is on the top between the two antennas. On the front, there is a cool pattern in an “X” shape. There are of course two throttles and 5 buttons in total. One for power right in the middle, one for taking photos and videos.

One for auto take-off and landing, which is a really useful function. You also have different modes on your drone and there’s a button for that as well. And last but not least there is a button for the drone to return home automatically. Also, you will find a wheel on the top left side which is for the camera’s angle. The drone can receive the commands from the transmitter from a 1.2km range. After that your drone is uncontrollable. But don’t worry, if you use the app, that will notify you and the drone will return home automatically if you go near that range.

Camera

The camera is able to take photos in 4k in a 4:3 ratio, but for videos is capable only for 1080p. Which isn’t that much but you are going to be able to make some decent videos. The camera is held by a 3-axis Gimbal which uses the technology that keeps the image clear on a DJI Osmo Pocket, it’s a great way to keep your image clear and not shaky. And for a price like this, it’s an awesome thing to have on your drone. Lots of drones use built-in software for image stabilization but having a gimbal is so much better. On the bottom there a second camera, which isn’t really a camera because you won’t be able to make usable photos with it but that has another purpose. That “camera” is the optical flow sensor, which helps you to fly as steady as possible.

Eachine EX4

Flight experience

The drone is powered by an 11.4 v 2400 mAh lipo battery, these are some modular batteries that keep their charge for longer. This results in a longer flight time, which in the case of the Eachine EX4 is as I told you before it is around 25 minutes. However, please notice that you may not get a full 25 minutes, usually, it’s a couple of minutes less, that depends on the conditions you are flying the drone and the mods you are using. But anything over 20 minutes is still a really good time.

As any drone in his range, this one is capable of using FPV. For this, you have to download the app on your phone, called “Enjoy-Fly” (available for both android or iOs) which has to support 80211.ac Wi-Fi, a.k.a. 5G Wi-Fi. And this is a must.  When you want to connect you will have two options, one is to connect to the transmitters wi-fi and one is to connect to the drone. The last one in the case if you want to control from the app. Which is a good idea if you forgot to charge your transmitter.

You also have some pretty great features on the drone-like: follow me mode, gravity sensor control, one key return, waypoint flight, point of interest, auto follow, returning home when it’s losing signal, etc. Having this much features is good for many reasons. First of all, for a beginner, it’s much easier to fly a drone with a lot of sensors and features because it will help his process in learning the control of the drone. Second, if you’re a more experienced drone user you will be able to create smoother and more creative footage if you feel like making a good video for your family, friends or fans.

If you’re interested you can buy the drone from Banggood.
