Design

At first glance, this drone may look like a spider. This mini drone is made completely from plastic and it comes in black or white color. If you’re familiar with drones you can find some similarities between the MJX X901 and his big brother, the MJX X600 Hexacopter. They both share an identical design with six rotors in each of the fixed arms. The strength of the build is above average, so we have a very reliable drone. Each arm has a LED light (4 blue – front / 2 red – rear) which isn’t just for the aesthetics but it will also help you in navigation. The power switch and the battery plug are on the back.

Remote Controller

The nano style also applies to the remote controller. It’s made from plastic and has two joysticks just like every other remote controller. It’s lightweight and it’s really fun and easy to use. In order for the controller to work it requires 2xAA batteries.

Performance

AS you saw before the MJX X901 has six motors, and it’s built with a 6 axis gyro. The communication through the controller is via 2.4GHz remote frequency, which can support around 100 meters distance in an optimal environment. Therefore it can be used outdoors as well. It has a built-in 180mAh battery, which can give him a 5-minute flight. The battery will take 30 minutes to charge fully. Since the drone weighs 190gr you won’t need any FAA registration.

Due to the lightweight and powerful motors, you will notice how fast it can fly in every direction. It has a stable and fast flight at the same time. For those who prefer a slower flight, there’s a beginner mode. So if you’re a beginner switch to this mode and all the commands response from the remote control will be less sensitive resulting in better stability. In medium setting, the drone will function more like a bit more aggressive but nothing too fast. And finally, in the fast mode, you can experience the full power of the MJX X901.

Also, due to this weight-motor ratio, you can execute some nice flips with the drone (with just a single press of a button). The remote control has 3 speed channels: Low, medium and high. At any channel, if you press the button for the flip the X901 will roll forward or backward according to your commands. When the X900 is in the high-speed condition, the roll action can be done only manually. For that, you have to push the forward/backward control stick and leftward/rightward flight control rod.

Others opinion about the drone:

“First of all, this is a Mini RC Drone, just cost $29.90, but it is a great product, lots of fun, and better quality than I expected. However, it can make me so much fun. The Drone is easy to set up and control. It takes a tumble well, crashed countless times, still good as new. The con is that its battery lasts about 15mins and takes 40mins to recharge. So I think you should buy extra batteries, they aren’t expensive. All in all, this Drone is good. It is worth buying.”

“This is probably the best-looking nano of them all, and it’s easy to fly to boot!  The mjx x900 is really hard not to fall in love with, ok that’s a little too far but seriously this is awesome, and it fits in the palm of your hand.  Some of the small details I like about it is the charger. It’s much easier to plug in than most of the Nanos out there, with less risk of damaging either end of the plug.  Also, it comes with a full set of spare props, which is very important when you do not have a prop guard and you’re kind of an amateur flyer. This is a solid 9 out of 10 from me.”

“I love this little hex. It’s built nice, and solid, fly heavy, but that’s good for breezy weather. I bought two with no regrets. It buzzes like a big bug with a cool sound and lots of power with those little motors. Overall it’s a great little gem for the money”

Conclusion

As you saw this is a tiny but fun drone to use. It doesn’t have a professional duty, The only purpose of this drone is to fly it while you’re sitting on the couch. You can do flips with it or to scare your companion animal with it. I know it’s not much and usually, you want more from a drone, but keep in mind that it only costs you $20.

If you’re interested in buying the MJX X901 Nano Hexacopter you can get it from Amazon, Gearbest, and Geekbuying.
