The Chinese company PowerVision succeeded in creating a professional Quadcopter, ready to compete in the cinematography market. PowerVision PowerEye Quadcopter is not just capable of creating great footage, but it also comes with many interesting features and it can also carry a payload as you’ll see in our review.  The drone itself has a quadcopter design, 4 foldable rotors, 3 forward facing cameras and a large camera underneath. Its landing gear can also be detached in order to suit better in its own case. PowerEye weights 3.9kg including its propellers and battery.

PowerVision PowerEye features a Panasonic Lumix G 14mm F2.5 ASPH as standard camera, an  OLympus M. Zuiko ED 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 EZ-zoom, an Olympus M.Zuiko 17mm f/1.8, an Olympus M.Zuiko 25mm f1.8 and an Olympus M.Zuiko 45mm f1.8.

A main feature of this camera is that it gives you the ability to change the lenses on the main camera. That’s not all you can also video stream, along with a 4k UHD camera. You can also use this drone to search, to inspect heat leaks, using its thermal camera, for wonderful artistic video captures, and the most important thing is that you can use it even for rescue operations.

The SMV camera has a 4/3* CMOS sensor, in order to produce still photos at 4,640 X 3,480 pixels. It has some very important manual control camera features, such as ISO for stills from 100 – 1,600 and for video 100 – 3,200, shutter speeds from 8 to 1 /8,000 of a second. This drone is able to shoot 4k videos at 24fps and UHD at 30 fps, and its storage capacity is 64GB of memory via SD card. It uses an integrated 3-axis gimbal with a rotational equilibrium system. 


It has a 5000 mAh LiPo 1S battery. Its Operating voltage is 12-mA/ 3.7V. Taking into consideration its size and weight, the battery could be a little bigger in order, to offer a longer flight experience. The battery offers 30 minutes flight time and it needs 5 hours to get charged.
