Build and design

The first thing that you will notice is the fact that looks really similar to the Phantom 4 Pro+. Both of them have a relatively flat body and high landing skids. To ensure a safe landing, therefore the body and the camera is protected.

In order to save some space in the box, you have to do some minimal assemblage when the drone is delivered before you take it to the air. First, you have to attach the blades, insert the battery and last you start the launching preparations. All of this doesn’t require any engineer skills, it’s a simple activity, after all, we can have some fun assembling things.

The drone is quite big and it measures 11.3×9.7×6.9 inches. It’s not quite easy to travel with such a drone, but with enough attention or a good case for drones you can do it without a problem. The weight is 2.8 pounds, which is above the standard so you will have to register it with the FAA before you can fly it. But the weight isn’t a problem for the motors, the drone is equipped with powerful brushless motors.

With the 3150mAh Lithium batteries included and the motor capacity, you can fly the drone around 22, give or take a few minutes. This is an intelligent battery so you have some built-in indicators to see how much charge remains. It is also easy to insert and remove from the drone witch just one click.

Camera

The drone a pretty good 1080p HD camera with 2 axis gimbal stabilization. The camera that comes with the drone is a built-in sports camera, so you can’t change it to another one. As a sports camera, it has a fisheye effect and a  wide field of view of 118 degrees. It has FPV capacity as well, for that you just have to download the mobile app or to get an FPV headset, and you’re good to go to see the drones live transmission.

Remote controller

At the first impression, the controller looks a bit big, but it’s made out of plastic so it’s quite light in weight and it fits snugly in an adult’s hands perfectly. It may be too big for children but they will find out a way to manage it. The controller needs 3x AA batteries in order to work, which you will have to buy separately.

The controller has a smartphone holder for your phone to access the FPV capability. But that’s not all, it also has a small LCD screen near the bottom, between the buttons which displays battery parameters and other telemetry info.

The controls given to the drone are very responsive and they are not overly sensitive. But you can use your smartphone as well in order to control the drone. The range of the remote controller to the drone is 500 meters, which is 5 football fields, so it should be enough for you.

Flight modes

I already talked about how much can you fly with this thing, so now I will talk about what can this aircraft do besides just flying. First of all, it has all the basics like Auto return key, One key take-off and landing, and Headless mode. But it has some extras as well: Orbit Mode, Altitude Hold, Follow Me Mode, Trajectory Flight, Gesture mode. These modes are really cool, but their main functions are to make cool videos and transitions.

As you can see in this review the SIMREX X11 Quadcopter works pretty well, and if you give it attention, it will as long as you wish. All the cons related to this drone are about the accessories. Overall, I think it has a great price-value rate. It has a lot of intelligent flight options which will give you a lot of joy and fun in your free time.
