Walkera Rodeo 110 FPV Racing Drone

Last month, Walkera released their smallest FPV racer to date: The Rodeo 110. As the name suggests, the new Rodeo has a diagonal size of 110mm which puts it in the same ballpark as other micro FPV drones such as the Hubsan H107D+ and the FuriBee F110 Wasp.

This micro size also means it is within the smallest drones with brushless motors in the market today, if not the smallest. In fact, it is so small that all key systems on the drone such as the flight controller, radio receiver and power distribution board had to be integrated into a single board that measures only 33 x 68mm. That is about the size of a large stamp. This high level of integration, although space-saving, means it is not possible to individually replace any system that gets damaged.

In other words, the entire main board needs to be replaced if just one system gets damaged. On the bright side, the board is so small it probably doesn’t cost much to manufacture which could possibly mean that it should be available at a very affordable price point.

Walkera Rodeo 110 Features:

Fortunately, the Rodeo 110 does not use 4-in-1 integrated ESCs and instead features a more conventional setup with 4 independent ESCs. Product pages on major retail sites also mention that the FPV video transmitter module is removable from the main board which could mean that some other modules are removable as well although this is not exactly clear at the moment. The main board also has an external RX port for attaching external receivers which is great for those who prefer to use their own radio systems on the drone. The port can accept SBUS and PPM signals.

With the new Rodeo 110, Walkera is pushing the envelope where size is concerned. Such small micro FPV racers cater to the growing crowd of FPV fans who are looking for small drones that were designed mainly for indoor flying and inherit the same features of much larger FPV racers. With the Rodeo 110, any living room or kitchen can be turned into an FPV racetrack.

The Rodeo 110 Price:

The Rodeo 110 is currently available in two kits: BNF (bind-and-fly) and RTF (ready-to-fly). The BNF kit is currently available at GeekBuying for $159 shipped but does not include a transmitter. The RTF kit is available for $189 and includes a DEVO 7 transmitter.
Walkera Rodeo 110 Drone Package
As mentioned in the highlights above, both kits come with a 2S battery although it is still not clear if the Rodeo 110 can handle 3S batteries.
