Build and design

The Kingbot L6060 quadcopter from this review has taken on a really unique approach to its design style, which looks pretty aggressive, especially with the propeller guards. It comes in full black color. The drone is also foldable, so you can carry it easily anywhere. The Kingbot L6060 quadcopter comes with landing legs as an addon module to protect the body and the camera when you’re landing. Also, it weighs exactly 250g so you just have to make an FAA registration for this one.

This foldable drone is built for durability, it’s really massive and reliable. It has an upgraded ABS plastic that is tougher than just a toy-grade plastic used for cheap drones. You can rest assured that the Kingbot L6060 drone won’t suffer a dent if you accidentally crashed it into the trees or wall (just don’t do it purpose). As few customers who bought this drone pointed out their high-rated reviews for its durability as one of the main strengths of the drone.

Camera

Perhaps one of the most important features in the Kingbot L6060 drone review is the quality of the camera. This aircraft is packed with a 2MP camera, which is a low-quality camera but it’s good for training. Furthermore, it is capable of recording videos on 720p with 30 FPS. However, if you are vying to become an aerial photographer, this drone won’t be enough for you. Also, the camera on the drone is adjustable but you can do that only manually.

All of the videos captured by the drone are transmitted in a live feed to your smartphone. Thus, you can view the video in the first-person experience, which is also known as FPV. However, we don’t highly recommend you to rely solely on the first-person view mode due to the fact it often lags because of the sometimes low Wi-Fi signal. It is nice for aerial photography but unreliable for FPV mode as the father the drone gets.

Remote control

Honestly, the remote controller looks a bit childish, but the design only. Overall it’s made out of strong plastic, just like the drone. The RC has a red-black color combination. It has two joysticks and some other buttons that look like a D-Pad like on a PlayStation controller.  But that is only for the flight options.

Flight experience

It can fly for 8-10 minutes with a single battery (charge time is 90-120 minutes). And for the range, the drone can fly away for something like 70 meters, but at that point, your videos will be really glitchy. Besides all this the drone has some built in functions as well, like One Key Return: The plane can find the way home easily, with this the drone won’t come home automatically, just it will be facing towards you.

You also have Headless Mode which allows you to ignore the orientation of the drone and make it go in any direction you want. Maybe the One Key 3D Roll is the most fun function of all. And last but not least it has Altitude Hold as well, powerful air pressure altitude hold function allows you to release the throttle sticks and the drone will keep hovering at the same height. Easy for you to shoot quality images or videos with this because you don’t have to concentrate on two things at the same time.

Others opinion about the drone

“This is an amazing drone. It’s super lightweight but it’s also very strong. It was very easy to set up, It came with the tool needed to assemble the drone. I was flying this thing within minutes. This was my first drone so I had a bit of a learning curve to go through and I crashed it quite a few times. Surprisingly the drone didn’t break, I was shocked after one of my crashes I thought it was done for but it kept going with minor scratches. The packaging included an extra set of blades in case you manage to break yours. After I was done playing with it I folded it back and packed it on my backpack, the way this thing fold is impressive.”

Very good design. The controller is pretty straight forward. The drone responds to the commands accurately and fast. I did not have any problem maneuvering the drone after I had put some practice on it. The drone also has a pretty nice camera, the quality is ok to get a birds-eye view of wherever you are.”

Kingbot L6060 Controller

“Extremely compact for on the go and you can unfold it very easy and is quick to pair with your phone or controller. The drone is very powerful and is quick for taking off. I have been using the drone for about a week and the only issue I have had with it is when there is wind but that’s with all drones. Other than that the software for the phone is easy to set up and easy to control the drone. Overall I’m very happy with my purchase.”

Pros

  • Easy to Control
  • Perfect for Traveling

Cons

Conclusion

The Kingbot L6060 from this review isn’t necessarily a professional quadcopter, it doesn’t have such great features but at least you can get it for a small price which means it’s perfect for training. So if you’re at the start of your drone relationship this might be a good choice for you.
