SNAPTAIN A10 Mini Quadcopter Review

The SNAPTAIN A10 mini that we’ll review in here is a toy drone that unites the characteristics of a toy drone with the tech of a regular drone. This has its pros and cons. For instance, you won’t be able to make professional footage with it if that was your plan. But on the other hand, for the price of a toy drone you’ll get a pretty decent and well functioning little drone. So depending on your demands, this drone can be awesome or lame.

One thing is sure, Snaptain did his best for this mini drone. They made a lot of great drones, like the Snaptain A15, which was a masterpiece. In the A10, you will find some of the greatest specs that you can find on none of the toy drones out there. You have a 720p camera, that can make actually recognizable videos, an 80-meter range, all that in a drone that can be folded to a size of your palms. If you became interested in the drone follow till the end this SNAPTAIN A10 Mini Quadcopter Review.

Build and design

Most of the mini drones look like a toy. A perfect example of this is the Eachine E010 Nano drone. But Snaptain took a different approach, they designed the drone-like it was a professional-grade drone. It looks very sleek and stylish. If you watch the drone a little bit closer you will find out that it has blue LED lights, which gives it a clear design.

And now let’s talk about the build part because this little drone has some pretty nice surprises. First of all, this drone is not just foldable, but the arms are also slideable, so they can be smaller. When you unfold it, it measures  6.1 by 4.1 by 2.6 inches, when you fold it the drone will be 3.25 by 2.75 by 1.4. The weight of the drone is so small that you don’t even have to register it to the FAA, so you can use it freely because it means no harm to anyone. The case of the drone is made from ABS plastic, this material will make the drone light and durable.

SNAPTAIN A10 Mini Package Review

Battery

The A10 comes with a 3.7V 380mAh batteries. Due to the small battery, one battery can give you around 7 minutes of flight time. But the good news is that you can get not one but of these batteries in the standard package.

Keep in mind that if you do a lot of tricks like flips, or return home, the battery may drain much faster. The same thing applies to batteries when you fly the drone in conditions, like wind, extreme hot or cold.

The batteries can be charged in 45 minutes. So my recommendation is to take an hour after your flight session and charge them fully. This way you can fly next time it anytime you wish.

Controller

The controller is also a strong part in the package. You will need, three AAA batteries to power up the controller, but these are not provided in the package. The control range between the drone and controller is 80 meters, which is a decent number.

As for the design of the controller, it has a retractable smartphone holder for the FPV. And different buttons for functions like headless mode, 3D flips, speed and so on.

Camera

The Snaptain A10 comes with a pretty decent camera. It can record videos in 720p, which can be pretty good if you record them in the right environment. Also, the camera has a 120° field of view, so you’ll have a wide image.

The camera also has an FPV that streams the image to your phone in 720p. For that, you will have to download the app on the smartphone. Unfortunately, the FPV of the drone has a way smaller range than the drone. The FPV works until 25 meters.  Also, through the app, you can stream your footage directly on social media.

Flight functions

Usually, small drones like this don’t have many flight functions. But not this one. The SNAPTAIN A10 Mini is stuffed with smart flight functions as showed in our review. It can do: Gesture Shooting, Altitude Hold, 3-speed modes, Toss and Go, Circle Mode, High-Speed Spin, Gravity Sensor, Headless Mode, Voice Control. To know the purpose of each, and that use them correctly make sure you read the users manual.
