Hubsan H109S Pro Quadcopter Review

After doing a great job with Hubsan Zino 2, Hubsan wants to keep up with the excellent work, so they came up with the new H109S Pro Quadcopter Standard and one alternate higher version that we’ll review in here. There are only just a few differences between the two. But you will be satisfied with both of them, so the choice is really up to your preferences. It has a pretty decent flight time, a friendly camera and some excellent features. This drone is not a beginner one, but a professional one that in one way it can keep up with the Phantom4.

Design and build

In his structure, the drone looks pretty similar to the P4. It has high landing gears, which protects the camera and the drone itself. The drone is powered with brushless motors that can get in the air this 1.4 Kg drone. That being said, if you’re into the drone business, you should know that a drone with parameters like this should be registered into the FAA. And even with that weight, it can fly with a 36km/h. Also, the drone measures 30×30×20 cm, and it’s not foldable, so it will be kind of hard to transport it.

Hubsan H109S Pro Quadcopter Package Review

Battery

Since the Hubsan H109S X4 is such a high-end drone, or at least tries to be one, it must have a high flight time. For this, the company added a 7000 mAh smart Li-Po battery. Without a camera, it can fly for around 30 minutes, which is more than the Phantom 4, but to be honest, nobody will use the drone without a camera. Maybe at the start, when you have to learn the basics of drone piloting. With the camera, you will get a maximum of 25 minutes, but this time can be reduced if you continuously fly it at high speed, or there are many signals around you, etc.

Transmitter

The H109S comes with an FPV1 transmitter which is pretty good, both in his performance and his build. The transmitter is responsive, fantastically intuitive, and the size and form perfectly fit into the palm of your hand. However, it may still have some downsides like a small display which makes it difficult to see or enjoy the FPV feature.

Regarding the range, which is the essential part of a drone, it’s surprisingly good.  The transmitter is capable of 1000 meters both with or without FPV. Also, the transmitter comes with a 2.4 and a 5.8 GHz antenna. You will be shocked, but with the 2.4 GHz antenna, the drone can go further. And with the 5.8 GHz, you will have a shorter but more stable connection, especially for the FPV.

Camera

Hubsan H109S is equipped with a high-quality external camera that can record footage in Full HD at 30 FPS. The camera can also be replaced with any other sports camera if you have one. The camera is connected to the drone via cable, and you get to see the FPV from the drone. In the case when you use another camera, you’ll have to view the FPV on your phone which will be difficult, because the controller doesn’t have a phone holder. However, with the primary camera, the FPV quality is relatively straightforward and flawless.

The camera is supported by a 3-axis gimbal which does a pretty good job stabilising the footage. And the gimbal can also be used to rotate your camera, so you get the best view possible.

Conclusion

Overall, our Hubsan H109S X4 Pro review reveals that the quadcopter can be used for professional purposes with its HD 1920x1080p video footage. You can choose between either the standard or High Edition version depending on your expectations and needs. Although there’s little difference between the two, you will be satisfied with both of them.

All the provided parts are high-quality items. The remote control is easy to use and has a 1000 meters range, which is a pretty nice range. The battery also works pretty good and can provide a flight time that can be used for professional purposes.

If you want to buy the Hubsan H109S Pro you should check out Amazon and Banggood.
